Entire Indiana House Votes in Favor to Pass Medical Marijuana Bill

A bill passed the Indiana House in a unanimous vote of 98 – 0 to allow marijuana oil as a treatment option for epilepsy patients. A similar measure was passed by the Senate just recently. Resistance to medical marijuana is dwindling in the state and these small steps are in a forward direction.

This is a significant shift in attitude toward medical marijuana in Indiana, according to Fox 59 News. It is important to point out that nothing is finalized yet. During the spring legislative session, the House and Senate plan to work together on the medical marijuana bill.

Although this is far from being a full-fledged medical marijuana program, it is a starting point. Supporters are happy with this small bit of progress. CBD oil will not get patients high; it will merely help reduce the symptoms of epilepsy. Some patients have seen seizures stop by using CBD oil.

It is important to note that this is the farthest any medical marijuana efforts have ever gotten in Indiana’s Statehouse.
