On March 21, Governor Holcomb signed legislation allowing the statewide sale of CBD oil. The bill includes language for labeling requirements. THC content may not be more than 0.3%.
CBD products will be available for purchase beginning July 1 when the new law takes effect, according to WTHI-TV 10. In 2017, lawmakers did pass legislation that is similar, but only allowed those with epilepsy to access CBD oil. Due to miscommunication in the law, a statewide crackdown on CBD sales in retail stores took place.
Holcomb said, “Indiana lawmakers delivered a bill that ensures Hoosiers who benefit from CBD oil can access it.”
CBD is derived from hemp and marijuana plants. It has therapeutic benefits but does not produce a high.
