Indiana Businesses Are Selling Out of CBD Oil

Since Indiana lawmakers voted to allow statewide sales of CBD products, they are flying off of store shelves. At one store, The Herbal Alternative, nearly every customer is inquiring about or purchasing CBD items. The store offers a variety of products including pet CBD products, topicals, disposable vape pens, gummy candies and oils.

Hoosiers wanted more options to treat pain and other health conditions, according to The Tribune. For some, it is helping them reduce dosages of or stop taking opioids and illegal drugs altogether. Following some confusion and a temporary moratorium on CBD sales, lawmakers finally decided to give Hoosiers access to the non-psychoactive remedy.

Krystal Harrell, owner of The Herbal Alternative, said, “Some clients have worked with their doctors to reduce their medications using CBD.”

The Herbal Alternative doesn’t just sell CBD products, the staff, ownership and ownership’s family all use CBD products.

Harrell said, in reference to her husband’s chronic pain, that, “CBD has made a big difference in his life.”

She also said, “He starts taking CBD and using the salve, and he’s changing light bulbs.”

Krystal Harrell uses CBD oil for her anxiety.

She said, “When you start to feed your endocannabinoid system, it’s like you have a dry riverbed in your body, so when you start feeding that again, you start putting water in the river and everything flourishes.”

Staff chats with customers to see what their medical needs are in order to make an appropriate suggestion based upon their symptoms. Staff also focuses a lot of their time on educating customers as  many still believe that CBD is marijuana (cannabis) and don’t realize that the product won’t induce a high.

She said, “I’m not just somebody trying to sell you a product. I truly want you to feel better.”

Many Indiana residents hope that the legalization of CBD in the state will lead to a full medical marijuana program in the future.
