Gov. Holcomb Awaits Federal Marijuana Reform Before Indiana

Cannabis

Governor Holcomb has not been shy about his opposition of legalizing marijuana. He’s opposed to any type of marijuana law reform until the federal government’s opinion shifts. Democratic Senators in Indiana are making medical marijuana legalization a priority in the upcoming legislative session.

There is also some Republican support for medical marijuana legalization in Indiana, according to 93.1 FM Radio. Holcomb also indicates that “solid research” isn’t available regarding the efficacy of medical marijuana. He’s failed to realize that piles of clinical data continue to increase regarding medical marijuana’s efficacy for some ailments.

Holcomb continues to hold onto the “gateway drug” theory too.

It isn’t certain whether he would sign legislation into law even if it had overwhelming support in the state’s House, Senate and General Assembly.
